The sinple and amaising world of Twinkling H2O’s…….

Ive your’ve never used these little pots of magic before, you really are missing out!!!!
They are so versitile and so vrey easy to use…… Before long you will be using them on all your chipboard…. just like me!!!
If you dont know what I am talking about…
Here they are..

I only have this one lot of colours, but they do come in lots of varieties. However, with my scrapping style, i manage to mix these colours to come up with all the colours i need:

To use Twinking H2Os, you will need:
Twinkking H2Os
Paint Brush
Water…
Something to paint.

Technique:
1. Dip a wet brush into the pot. When you first start to use them, you will have to redip your brush a few times to lift the dust.
Bear in mind, that the brush wont look like it has alot on it. As the effect of the Twinkking H2Os is like a transparent finisih.

2. Begin to paint your object.
It might frighten you at first, because all it looks like is your saturating your object in water, but be patient. You will begin to notice the slight coloured sheen.
The heavier the colour you require, the more coats you give your item. I usually coat it three times. Theres no need to wait for it to dry either, yu just keep going over it. You may need to redip your brush in water to pick up the dust.

3. After a few coats, it should look like this.

4. You can also be a bit clever and use two colours. Its really easy as the colour doenst tend to run!! I dont know whty considering the water you use…. but it just works…

Another great thing about Twinkling H20s is you dont have to wait hours for it to dry. By the time you finish painting them and then get to use them, they are dry enough to use.
Here is my finished item:

You can also mix colours. I will paint 2 layers in the first colour and then paint either one or two layers in the next colour…. Creates just a small difference in colour.

You can also wait until it dries properly and write over it.

So there is a really simple fun technique…. Hope you get to use it soon!!!

CuttleBug me- Technique Monday!!

Hi All

Today I thought I would share how much I love my Cuttlebug. This little green bug is very reasonable in price and the embossing folders and dies are affordable. The most expensive being a set of alphabet dies. My green bug is fairly new to me and so I am still developing a die and embossing folder collection, but I love it already.? This little green machine is easy

to use and very easy to take around with you. It has a carry handle and I store all my plates and folders in a little plastic box.

It is great for card making but is also very handy for scrapbookers.? I love to make embellishments on it and embossing paper instead of using? pattern paper on a page.

Here is a page I have recently completed using the Cuttlebug on some of the cutouts

These are some embellies I have made. The butterfly has been made using a 2 step die and embossing plate. Firstly you cut the shape by using the die plate and then emboss the shape with 1 of the 4 embossing folders. I did this once with card stock and then with vellum for the behind wings. I then finished it off by adding some Pearl Ex powder and Kindyglitz.

The flowers are bought paper flowers that I have embossed with script folder.

The leaf and little butterflies are 2 step dies. Just lovely to add to a page or card!!? I have also embossed some Heidi Grace plastic tags. I think it gives them a little something extra.

You can use other brand die in your Cuttlebug but you will need to use the C plate and even add a chipboard shim to get the right thickness for embossing.

These little tags for? a book have been made using the Cuttlebug with various ink techniques. The first tag(top left corner) has been made using Colour Core cardstock. Firstly emboss the cardstock and then sand over the pattern to reveal the colour core!

The next tag has been double embossed and inked. I ran the tag through first with the dot embossing folder and then ran a pink ink over the top. Next, I ran the dandy lion clock folder through. The dots have now been de-embossed. Lastly I inked the dandylion clocks with blue ink.

To make the multicoloured? tag, I embossed and then I ran a brayer (rubber roller) over a rainbow ink pad. The ink was then rolled over the tag.

The black tag (bottom row)? was embossed and a gold ink rubbed over the top.

The red tag was embossed and then I sprinkled clear embossing powder generously over the top. Heat the powder to leave a beautiful shiny finish!

Lastly, the next tag was rubbed with different colours of PearlEx powder and then embossed. The shrinky dink was also made using the cuttlebug.(these instructions will follow at a later date!)

Have fun? embossing and cutting!!!! Don’t be afraid to try things out. I would love to see any cards or L.O’s that have some cuttling on them! So share with us in the gallery!!

To finish off….. have a look at some great other techniques here and here and here. I especially love the circle technique and will be giving it ago myself!!!
